We turned this screen used Priest vampire movie costume from the 2011 film into a life sized statue for our client, who was a collector or original movie props and wardrobe. Priest the film stars Paul Bettany as a priest in a post apocalyptic world where men are at war with vampires. Bettany must break his vows to rescue his niece who has been kidnapped by vampires, played by actors in amazing creature costumes.
Our client had a complete foam latex vampire costume, consisting of a body suit, a pair of hands and feet and the pull over mask. We started by creating a custom mannequin form. We determined the size specifications by careful measurement of the original costume. We then mounted the foam latex costume to the mannequin along with the hands, feet and an additional foam latex spine piece which was made to cover up the zipper in the back of the suit. This way the suit would look like the creature’s body and not like a costume. We then mounted the mask to the mannequin’s head. We even created lips and a mouth to receive the original teeth worn in the film. The client also had a necklace and weapon (on a cord) which were placed in the statue’s teeth and wrapped around his arm, respectively.
To complete the display we created a themed base as a stand for the mannequin, which is in the shape of the the crosses seen throughout the film. We finished the base to look like rusty metal as an homage to the post-apocalyptic style of the film.
