Create a one of a kind tribute to your company founder with a custom bronze-style bust! This post details our custom sculpture of Louis T. Klauder, company founder of the LTK company, now proudly display in their lobby, honoring their company history.
Often our bronze work is done for family, as a tribute to a loved one, or sometimes even as a surprise gift! Other times, we’re working with companies or co-workers to create tributes to employees, retirement gifts or, as in this case, a tribute to honor the founder of the company.
Originally envisioned as a smaller tribute, our sculpture of Louis Klauder grew to include a themed photo backdrop of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, a sharp black and white toned pedestal and custom acrylic cover and eventually became the centerpiece of a wonderful lobby display celebrating the company’s anniversary, as well as its founder.
While the subject of each tribute bust is unique, the creation process of these busts is very similar. We work with each client to gather as many photos of the subject as we can. Then we have them choose the facial expression they feel really captures the essence of the subject. Then each life-sized sculpture is hand sculpted in clay, and once the client is happy with the final sculpture, a mold is created. This bust was done in a process called “cold casting”, where a real bronze surface material coats a resin bust. With a polish, it gives not just the look of real bronze, but also that “cool to the touch” feel. And it does that without the weight and cost of a real metal bust. The bust shown here was sculpted by frequent TSD artist, Ron Tiller.

Wanted to reach out to send you some photos of the bust in place in our lobby. Thank you again for all of your help and great customer service. We are so pleased with the way everything came together. It was truly a pleasure working with you and your staff! The project turned out perfect – and I still admire the bust each time I walk by.
Thank you again for everything!
